We built this car some years ago and have run it for Mike Peters
( And sometimes his son Sean )
With great success
Elva Photos (in original red and restored Blue)
This is probably the most famous Elva MKV11S in the world, having been owned when new by the infamous Tony Lanfranchi, (A wonderful character whom I came across in my F5000 days, good man to have at a party !!). Mike bought the car, and we were developing it quite well when it had an argument with the bridge on the wellington straight at Silverstone. It lost the argument and was subsequently rebuilt to the most amazing standard by Simon Hadfield and sadly sold on.
Sean Peters moved on to the MG ZR in the MG Trophy series, (It’s a strange beast which drives the wrong wheels ! ) None the less we campaigned it very well with a best result of second at Brands. He has now moved on to Radicals,. (even stranger, a bit like a skateboard, but very quick !)
We built this Chevron in conjunction with Vin Malkie at the then Chevron racing factory at Antrobus. On completion we then tested and developed it with the owner Paul Campfield and have run it for a number of years very successfully in the HSCC Dereck Bell championship. This is an absolutely fabulous race car and a joy to drive. The B24 was one of the very best and most successful 5000 cars built and won many championships in period.
After completing Mark Ashworth’s very successful TVR 1800S, I decided to build one for myself. It took some time (as customers cars always seem to take priority), when completed we raced it at Dijon and then sold it to Nigel Edwards. He had some good races with it and it then found its’ way home for me to prepare and run for Lee Atkins
We built this car ‘from scratch’ and ran it very successfully for a few years, with many race wins, It has now been rebodied as a Grantura.
This is the very famous Ex works rally car and factory test bed, subsequently owned long term by Rivers Fletcher. Now owned by Mike Peters and undergone a superb restoration by James Horner. In keeping with the factory development theme we have built a ‘fast road’ 1950 engine for the car which is now coupled to a five speed Ford box, making for a very pleasant drive !
Prepared and run for Greg Thornton, this is a superb F5000 car which I raced at Silverstone for Greg. I saw it a few times in period when McRae’s old rival Sam Posey was driving it!
Rolls Royce Special.
We sourced this car for Simon Ashworth and did a lot of development, especially on the engine, which ultimately gave around 600 bhp!
This is quite a famous little racing car being the first car to have been built by Marcos Ireland under license in Dublin,
Chassis number MI 01R.
We have completely rebuilt it from a neglected mess for a prominent Racing driver and team owner, and it is now ready to take to the circuits again.
